  • squeak inside seat

Not sure if this has happened to anyone but there is a squeak that seems to be coming from the springs inside the seat.

I can hear it everytime I go over a bump and I can also hear it when I rock gently back and forth when the car is stationary.

Is there anyway to WD40 the springs inside?!

    Thanks guys

Be careful that you don't damage the foam or material spraying lubricant around the seat.

Check the tightness of any screws/bolts you see .. otherwise auto-trimmer or VW to see if they (or try it yourself) can stuff some foam padding under the seat area ... it might muffle it if it doesn't eliminate it.

The squeak is coming directly behind my back inside the seat....seems like the springs just need some lubricating, but I can't get to it...not sure how stuffing foam padding under the seat would help? Thanks but

I thought you meant the base of the seat. For those of us a little heavier that's where the squeaks usually come from

yeah me too, around the shoulder blade area. Only noticed when driving slowly with no radio on. No idea how you'd fix it as you'd have to remove the material and it's quite likely all covered in foam.

at least build quality is... consistent.

I'm not really fazed, it's more the light buzz/rattle from the upper back corner of the drivers door.

I had this start about 2 weeks ago (upper back area). Took it to VW to get it checked out along with my air bag fault. Hmmm they said they tightened and lubricated the springs in the seat. If anything they made it worse than what it was before. I dont know what it is but i find it annoying LOLLL where's DubSteve?? CAN YOU HEAR IT?? SEEEEEEEE hahahaha im not going crazy, he heard it too

Not sure how they would get to the inside but....it doesnt seem like its possible without tearing the seat apart?!

Happens in mine in the passenger seat if I rest my head against the restraint. Otherwise it seems okay. Haven't sat in the drivers seat for too long.

Take it back to VW, don't listen to their excuses! You have the warranty for a reason.

My drivers seats were creaking and had it lubed by them, and it didn't do sh*t, got told it was normal but i didn't take it for an answer... after many complaints i had them order in a new backing plate i think it was and it fixed the problem.
