Hi everyone, Ive already introduced myself in the newbie-forum, but I wanted to create a thread about my car here also.

This Friday July 17, I will travel to Stockholm to pick up my -09 GTi.
As I do some mods I will share some pics of it.

Yes thanx, it would'nt be wrong.
But for starters I will go looking for rims etc, I have already ordered H&R-springs to it..

Does anyone have some tips of cheap/easy tuning-upgrades to start with?
Have searched the forum but im not sure were to start.
Thinking about panelfilter, more serious BOV etc etc.

seat intake and panel filter will be the cheapest.

suspesion wise rear sway bar easy to fit on your own.

biggest gain but not really cheap is getting the car chipped.

Get a reflash and a bigger dump/down pipe, that'll add 40kwatw from stock.

                  You like men haha

do what flaps and whubbsie suggest, and upgrade the brakes. Will be a reliable lil rocket. I too have the H&R's, only done the springs with standard struts. I like the height and ride is generally good, except for on highways with the small expansion cracks, it gets a bit of a bounce/jiggle. Though on rough roads it fine (and we have plenty, it's fine). No idea if the H&R's are a progressive coils or anything, just slightly mismatched.

as for a BOV, do a search in here, it's been discussed to death with varying results. Non-atmospheric seem to be the most consistent, reliable result, though I haven't explored that path yet.

                    Thanks for the feedback!

Do you believe that its worth mounting just a bigger downpipe with another cat, or will the rest of the exhaust strangle the performance of the car?
                    (Money down the drain?)

Whats this Seat-intake? Whats the benefit of it?
                    Any part number/model?

There are gains, but previous testing has found the gains from the full exhaust compared to the downpipe only to be pretty minimal (less than 10 off the top of my head).

Agree with the others, if you are not planning on a turbo swap soon then the following mods are a must:
                      - ECU flash (chip)
                      - Air Filter
                      - Seat intake (basically a wider piece of pipe to the air filter box to allow more breathing)
                      - diverter valve (full or partial plumback)

Plenty more options, but for power and pull, these are a great place to start.

i've gone with the springs which help, but am looking for some more handling mods. likely sway bar(s) and a front strut brace as there is a fair amount of flex in the front end (to me).

hopefully these will stop my traction control kicking in so often and spoiling my fun.

Do you have any info from wich Seat-model this hose comes from?

Next step for the handling I think as you say, is a swaybar in the rear.
Some friends I met trough racing with my Volvo has driven in the German ADAC Polo Cup, maybe there's some spec of the cars on the website:

as you would know from reading the posts , the lil pog has growing traction issues the more mods you do , suspension like your getting also helps with this as you would know. a few people here on the forum also have pelequin lsd's which are really tbd's, which apparently help with getting the power to the ground out of turns.
