Seat Ibiza suspension on the Polo GTI?

hey guys,

just a simple question (kind of), will the seat ibiza springs fit on the polo gti?

been reading around the uk seat forums where the blokes have put 9n polo gti suspensions in their seat ibiza's. can anyone confirm what year model seat ibiza platform is identical to the polo gti's?

im assuming that the strut setups are the same, and the springs would be the same as well.

would be great if someone could confirm of fitments on to my polo gti.

You have to remember that we havn't had SEAT in Australia for a very long time (1999 i believe), and the current model of Polo(9N3) came out in late 2005, so the chances of either the 2005-> Polo GTI and a <-1999 SEAT Ibiza sharing any common parts in the suspention department is very slim. The guys in the UK are maybe talking about the current model SEAT's that are out over there.

yeh only reason i ask is because i can get springs for a seat from an online store with pretty cheap postage, compared to the other stores that sell the vw polo springs. if its the same then i'd just choose the cheaper option.

the ibiza (6l) and polo (9n3) share the same chassis so yes they do fit on a seat or seat 6l springs do fit on a polo 9n3 (ditto for the fabia)

We neither get the current 6L Ibiza or the Fabia over here unfortunatly. However, I'm sure you could buy the suspention off the net if you went looking. Would be very expensive though.
