  • Polo Pacific - what did you pay for yours?

My sister has decided to upgrade her car. She liked my GTI so she wanted to have a look at a Polo. We had a look at the Pacific 5 door and are seriously considering putting a deposit on it.

I know the feedback on the price of the Polo GTI has helped me get a good deal on my car.

I just want to know what other people have been paying for the Polo Pacific with on-roads.

The car were looking at is a 5 door, auto which is a non-registered demo with metallic paint.

    Why get a new one?

Could have this one for close to 22 (and its the diesel), but then again, you could get a GTI for 20K (thats what I paid) with low kms...

24k is an advertised price I've seen for a new one, so should be able to get better than that.

If it was me I would get a GTI but my sister cant drive manual and she wouldnt care if it was turbo and all the extra bits.

The pacific comes standard with lots of extras that the GTI has. All power windows, 15in mags, cruise control, air con, mp3/CD player, power/heated external mirrors. The only major bits it misses out on, besides the engine, brakes (which are discs all round) and suspension (which is not all that exciting anyway) is the seats and ESP, everything else is almost identical.

The price on the one we were looking at is $22,800 and its got a bit over 100kms on the clock.

I saw an ad the other day for John Hughes VW (Perth) - $23 990 drive-away for a brand new Pacific 1.6 auto 5 door, metallic paint and safety pack.

My parents are currently shopping around for a "shopping trolley" and they are considering the Pacific 1.6 manual.

Dealer said they are expecting the new Polo in February 2010.
