  • GTI Brakes on Polo Match

    Hi Guys,

Just wondering if front brakes off a 2007 Polo GTI would fit on a 2007 Polo Match??

I assume all I would need are the calipers, rotors and pads or are the uprights different too?

    Cheers

    Dan

      hey mate.
they should all be pretty interchangeable.
you will however need bigger wheels to clear the discs. (bigger than stock 14s)

How much power will you be wanting to reign in?

It may be a drama as the Match has a 4 stud pattern, and the GTI has a 5 stud pattern for the wheels, so finding brake rotors to match could be a drama. As for the calipers, the should just bolt up easily.
As to what power he will have shouldn't be a huge concern. Maybe he just wants bigger brakes the same way other people put Porsche brakes on their car for looks. Its his cash, let him spend it how he see's fit.

Yes he was, he's now impersonating his gf, and has clearly become very sloppy about it as of late...

You shouldn't have too much of a problem then, just as suggested before you will need in the least, 15's with some significant clearance for the larger calipers or 16's just to be on the safe side

i'm pretty sure all the 9n3 polos are 5 stud. any clues as to what you're going to need gti brakes for?

i'm guessing you've got the stock 14' steelies? do you have discs brakes at the back? you might have more of an issue fitting gti rear brakes if you have drums

assuming this, the rears would probably require new longer hand brake cables (gti e-brake cables). otherwise it should be a pretty much bolt on - bleed - drive away affair.
