Yeah its possible mate, they do have a fair bit of movement in the voided bush. Have butchers hook at the vid posted somewhere here and you will see whats goin on under there. Mate there is a huge difference with delivery with regards to tramp etc . Not a massive price for a pretty good mod IMO

Well after having Jimmy install my bushes today I can honestly say best mod since being chipped. For the first time the power delivery around corners is brilliant, to the point where I get awesome tyre screech which I have not heard before. I have decent wide rubber on to, 215/40R17 Goodyear Eagle
F1's and as I said never heard them squeel like this before under power around corners which proves to me it was the movement in the old voided bushes that caused the trapping and delay of power. The steering even feels more solid when not on boost and I detect a tad more torque steer under full boost in a straight line which is due to more power through the front wheels I suspect. A must do for Polo GTI's IMO

      Thanks again Jimmy

folks, i just had the bushes installed today and i notice the car tends to drift to the left and right randomly along the road. this is only evident at high speeds (>80km/h or thereabouts). it feels weird. the steering position does not change but the car's direction does! feels like the wheels are turning independently of steering input! it's not by a lot but it is enough for me to notice it. the car drifts by maybe half a foot?

did the installer mess up the lower arm assembly when they put it back on? camber needs adjustment? alignment? tyre pressure?? any ideas?

also, torque steer seems quite a bit more pronounced.

As I know, after you change the bushes a wheel alignment is needed.

yes, that's correct. got that done. but the car doesn't pull / drift in one direction consistently. sometimes it goes straight.

maybe i'll get it aligned again and have the tyres checked...

i paid a bit more attention to the road and realized it's actually drifting in the direction of the road camber and ruts. turns out the bush upgrade makes the steering more sensitive to road undulations. more tramlining?? well, no complaints from me since i had this behaviour with my previous ride.

took a spirited drive today and whoa......!!! the difference is pretty significant. that, coupled with the whiteline sway bar, makes for fantastic cornering control. prior to the bush installation, i had the sway bar on ONLY and it didn't feel that different to me. but the bush + sway bar combo has transformed the car's handling characteristics by quite a bit!

                  signing-off for more spirited driving.

Something going on there mate, you really shouldnt have drift, an alignment should be done evertime that susp set up is upset. Havent had any drifting complaints. Something well wrong there mate, hope you get fixed up. Self steer is a castor issue mate
