  • Muffler only options

    Hey folks,

Looking at a few rear muffler options, just for the simple pleasure of a exhaust tone/note change.
BinnyV posted his thoughts on the xforce rear muffler - has anyone else had much experience with different aftermarket mufflers?
Aparently Magnaflow have a few options too...

    Thanks

I have a hurricane stainless steel rear muffler, 2.5inch. Made by Liverpool Exhaust inhouse.

I asked for the biggest muffler they could fit in our cavity area in an effort to keep it as quiet as possible. Had to make up some custom brackets etc.

In my opinion car is a little noisier than I would like it but I think there was some benefit to power.

    Pic below..

Cost me $425 fitted? I think.. Its all stainless.

        960 for a muffler

might aswell get the rest of the apr exhaust for that kind of money.

from seeing binny's i'd say thats the go i think i saw it was under 300.

To be honest I don't like single tips on the GTI.... the bumper cut out sort needs twins to fill it.

Bit of a performance gain claim in theRemus rear muffler alone here.
Don;t know how sure this is but its the only specifically designed non-generic Polo Gti muffler I can find...yes you pay for the R&D tho...ouch.

Ill have to take a video first but it sounds sweet. At idle (after the air pump hing shuts up from cold starts) it is fairly quiet at idle.

Sounds quite nice, can hear the turbo really whistle through the system but there is a bit of resonance in the exhaust. This was there prior to fitting this muffler even with the stock system and APR downpipe. So the muffler didnt contribute to that.

No drone at all, quiet when cruising but as revs rise it does get a little noisy..

It was the biggest muffler I could fit under there.

I will take video and post up, gimme a couple days..if your local welcome to come round and hear it fire up first hand.

Someone on here came to see it once and loved it.

i havent changed my muffler (I like the twin tips) but changing the DP certainly gives it a beefier note and nice burble..

Where did you get the DP done ? Was it only the DP (ie cat, etc still standard) and what sort of money did it set you back ?

New cat came with the DP (milltek) and with fitting your looking at around 1500-1600.

I got mine fitted at Corse automotive in Wetherill Park..

your car certainly is louder then other polo gti's for sum reason.. it sounds like it has a exhuast system done. possibly ur car has a resonator removed from factory or sumthin.
