  • How's your exhaust pipe?

A query for the forum. An early 06 polo gti I looked at a couple of years ago had a long resonator in the standard exhaust pipe between the cat and the rear muffler. Mine (07) hasn't got one, and the pipe and muffler are one piece (no other joints) after the join behind the cat. What have other people got, and was this a running production change?

    Yes is your simple answer
    06 Polo GTI - REVO Stage 2 = 140kw @ wheels.
06 Golf GTI - Bluefin Stage 1 blacked out with ED30 theme, leather, xenon, etc.

yeah apparently vw in all there wisdom removed it. very odd considering it would make the car a lil more louder. not usually a vw trait. first time i sore it was when mine was at guy's up on the hoist.

I know bugger all about exhausts, but is this why my car "grumbles" louder than my mate's 06 when going up hill with a full car?

              I don't like loud exhausts....

so I will be removing my resonator when the down pipe is going in... hopefully this will give me some decent noise without changing the rear muffler.

Mine is registered Feb 06 in NZ. Meaning maybe manufactured late 2005.
