Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

        Hmmm,

i have no imagination of where these would go (think I need to do a mechanical course at tafe).

So probably a few hundred for the bushes and a few hundred for install?

you use seat ones for the rear of the arm 6LL407183 £14 for 2! and powerflex ones for the fornt of the arm PFF85-601 £30 for 2 and a guide

but i would recommend a garage fit these i paid £99 for fitting and £80 for lazer 4 wheel align afterwards but for those up for the challenge its a good guide!

The word EACH being the operative word there my friend and you only have 2 on your car. Fronts are already solid mate, some may choose to go to poly.
Lets not get mixed up here, when i say fronts , thats the front of the front wishbone, and the solids i have mentioned are the rear of the front wishbone.
                        Hope this makes sense

                          Thanks

Ok, so goes on the front of the front wishbone.... The rear suspension is a torsion beam (can you hear the cogs of my mind trying to make sense of this?)

Still sounds like a good bit of fun... Take long to fit?

You still havent got it mate. Ok front wishbones/control arms have 2 bushes PER side. Ok lets look at one wishbone say the left hand side, this will have 2 bushes, one bush is already hard rubber but can be replaced with poly, and the other remaining bush is the large one of the 2. This one has 2 kidneys allowing the wishbone to move around abit, this is where you can experience a bit of tramp. Ok this is the bush that gets replaced with the Solid Seat Cupra bush, thus no or should i say less movement.
Rear is a solid axle beam and stub axles mate.
Hope this helps, i know its easy to answer like you are talking at your toolbox, i apologise if i do that sometimes.
                            Cheers

Just looking at the poly options for the front wishbone bushes and see Superpro have a few options which I can't quite make sence of, can you shed some light on this please Jimmy?
