Yes there is a stage 2 Revo option for our cars. I have been quoted with one earlier this year.

PM me if you wish to see the quote.

What was the quote? I asked my dealer, but he has been busy and has been delaying...

Do you get any subsidy for having REVO stage 1? I am ready to go to stage 2, have all the mods required for it, including fuel pressure regulator.

      Cheers!

The quote included the down pipe, hi flow cat, and the stage 2 software upgrade ($300) for $2029. Later on he said I could add the cat back exhaust for $1700.

If you already have most of that hardware then I say do it!

          Thanks Sid.

My agent is in Hong Kong, he will be back this weekend. I will get REVO Stage 2, if the price is right.

I have all pre-requisite for Stage 2 complete.
Downpipe 3" with bigger inlet for CAT. Did not want to go for Sportcat at this stage with minimal changes seen on Dynos on previous cars.
          4bar fuel pressure regulator
          Intake mods + K&N filter.
Optional lightened flywheel with racing clutch (ECS kit).

I think Stage 2 - was designed for approx 195kw at flywheel (including all mods).

For around 300-400NZD I am in.
If it's anything more than $500, I will really need to think about it to justify the price. It's quite fast as it is.

I need the exhaust / fuel regulator. Fuel regulator you can get one from ecs tuning from states for not much. I think I needed 2.5 or 3 bar or something in that line, can't quite recall.

Intake wise, I will just go with SEAT intake (with flap cut out).

I would be happy to get front mount, but at this stage, I will be happy with vent mod on the arch, and if I can get hold of the GTI grill that would be it. New Zealand ever really sees temperature of Australia.
I have heard the stock box fitted with an LSD can handle 370hp just fine, look at plutos car for example, hes got alot of power, but only upgraded the gears because of their large ratios.

Are you sure about those numbers, a sorted K04 car just clears that?

                That's what I got advised.

To be honest, I think theoritical.

If you are think about it, they advertise 158kw for REVO Stage 1 at flywheel.
If you add + 7kw intake (Seat + K&N) + exhaust upgrade (10-15kw) + fuel pressure regulator (increased fuel injector rate) + better timing = equates 175-180kw at flywheel (from their assumption). So ECU timing / fueling changes - they think they can extract another 15kw power out.

                I think in theory - it's a reasonable assumption.
On dyno - probably different story. I think I can hit 145-150kw at wheels with REVO Stage 2.

We will need to see. My dealer hasn't got back to me. REVOTechnik.com has replied and yes there is Stage 2 upgrade, and it only costs 55 pounds inc. VAT.

I did send a copy to my dealer.

For Seat + REVO Stage 1 upgrade only - nothing else.
Had 127.3kw at wheels at 20 degrees. This is from a well known dyno place in Auckland. Torque Performance.

If they expected 165kw at wheels, I did have 22% loss through transmission. If you account approx 20% loss through transmission - it was making 159kw at flywheel. Not a bad claim.

That's only under assumption that transmission loss is approx 20% though.

I got 165kw/225hp at the wheels of my A3 with JBS04 hybrid FMIC, 3 inch turbo back system, S3 MAF, injectors and pump. There was still fine tuning to be done on the Phase 3.

My S3 when it had APR in did 155KW at the front wheels with the Haldex fuse pulled. Not dyno'd it since swapping it for Custom-Code but it feels better.

I haven't read of a K03s doing better than 240-245hp in the UK. Just seems to be the ceiling of the turbo.

The upgrade cost from Revo was reasonable though I thought. You'd have to try it out.

The ko3 gets asthmatic and we all know that and the k04 will hold out longer, not sure where these numbers are being pulled from anyway want big power work the motor and fit a huge hairdryer, and yeah itll cost you. There is nothing magical about it its a fact.

From what I've seen the intake changes don't really yeild much in KW's and the exhaust is not likely to give you 15kw ATW extra.

That video shows a pretty damn fast Polo, certainly faster than mine, but I don't see how the K03 can be getting all that extra power over all the other tunes... Maybe the FPR is a important component, certainly cost a few $$$.

I am not willing to argue,

only thing I can suggest is that, Timbo's car with REVO with 3" downpipe produced about 15kw more at wheels. This is with only downpipe upgrade. This is exactly what I've done.

That Stage 2 REVO is quick... real quick. I will need to get that upgrade! Geez... impressed. Stage 3 - is when you get K04.

K03s - has limits. REVO seems to be more aggressive tune... I will let you know... my Stage 2 will be within 2 weeks hopefully.

Once again K04 has limits too, and a stockie engine, It holds up longer but i dont think we have the roads to reap the total benefits. If you get a chance to have an open road long enough you will see the gains. Thats the reason the big turbo big power upgrades are mega money , once again not magic its facts bigger turb stronger worked engine then of course you will see mega gains, We should all know this by now , there has been enough written about it all over the net, how can you ask for more out of something that just cant. In its Stock form with stage 1,2,3 its pretty damn good, want more, spend more.
                              rest my case.
