dont go bigger than 17's - if you do decide to go for 18's you will be forced to use 215/35/ZR`8 tyres and that is a definite no-go unless you live in an area wuth absolutely perfect roads and not a pothole in sight - i lost three tyres in the space of 6 months with that profile of tyre - changed the rims down to 17's and started using 205/40/R17's and absolutely no problems at all anymoreI'd be carefull with what size you get, 16 & 17's seem to go well on the GTI, but 18's would be pretty scarily thin profile and make for an uncomfortable ride.
out of the lot you link to this one here grabs my attention http://www.tempetyres.com.au/product...=&part_no=1627 as being the one that will suit a polo and still be a bit stylish as well as practical ie easy to clean - remember that polos create a helluva amount of brake dust - so the less spokes in the rim the easier it will be to clean - im heavy on the brakes - so the mesh style ones are nightmares for me to clean - so im gonna change the rims again soon
heres a pic of the 18's i used

and heres a pic of the 17's that are there now

what i want to get to replace the 17's

though i would replace the audi badges with VW ones - these look cool on a Polo as you can see here

those vault wheels are what i meant when i said sydney siders didnt have a clue about what looks good aesthetically (forum members excepted, of course- they drive vw's).
basically, jessica, you are not allowed to get any of the above wheels, or wheels similar, unless you drive a big 4 door saloon like Dodge 300c, BMW 6 series, Merc E-Class and above, Audi A6 and above, Toyota Aurion (camry couldnt pull it off), and similar cars.
Your car needs to be pretty damn expensive, or very big/blockish looking, or both, for these wheels to work. even commodores and falcons wouldnt really pull it off as no one wants to drive a car whose overstated, blinged-up wheels look more expensive than the actual car.
jess, i would suggest that you check out some other VW wheels on the classifieds here- your wheel requirements are as follows:
stud pattern: 5x100mm
offset: roughly 35-45mm
wheel size: no bigger than 17 inch
wheel width: no wider than 7.5
if you want someone to do the guesswork for you and just go to tempe tyres, id personally be inclined to look at wheels like:
etc etc.
just my two P

yeah i'm a fan of the kuro intakes but i don't think they are available in 5x100.....only 4x100.
out of all the wheels there, go with something in the Lenso range.

They're probably cost half if not more than half of what she paid for the car when you include tires, and besides they look rather mediocre when in the flesh unfortunatelyOriginally posted by R1 Crasher View PostI'm a bit old school but if I were in the market for wheels I would look at these,
I suppose it would depend on your budget.
