        I'm assuming it's a polo??? lol.

If it's brand new, (has less than 200km on the clock), can you disconnect the battery to see if it sets your odometer back to zero. Most new cars (certainly Alfa romeos) will set the main odometer to zero within that mileage, yet keep the trip details. So you'll have a trip reading of 50kms and zero on the odometer, lol.

I'm just curious, my car wasn't new when I got it.

i wouldnt touch the thing! You can blow your ECU if you dont reconnect the battery properly I've been told!

ok, do what everyone else says.

Surprising these things are more sensitive than an Alfa, lol.

                Reclock?

What would be the benefit? To keep <200kms off the clock?

Nah, what you should do is buy my old springs off the GTI so I don't have to move them when I move house next month

Only if you reverse the polarities, or don't tighten up the terminal clamps after you have reconnected it.

                      odometer reset

Can only be done if its under 100km, done via VAS diagnostic tool and can only be reset once.
