  • New number plate suggestions.

    hey guys,

getting some new number plates for the GTI for my 19th birthday. the euro style.

    any suggestions on good combinations.

it has to be 2 letters followed by 3 numbers no other option.

so far i got VW 906 (POG) or my initials but i rekon the initials is a tad c**p.

    thanks in advance.

If you can see yourself getting a different model VW in future, then having a number plate not referring to a specific model might be another way to go. This is harder that I thought - the numbers make it hard to come up with something with meaning.

How much are those euro plates by the way? Is there an annual fee to keep them?

i dont really care about next car or anything mainly because i will be keeping the polo for minimum of 5 years (uni)

in WA its a one off payment of $515 gets more expensive the more personalized you go.

Yeah I agree. However being chinese would help though as its very common to see chinese with custom plates with a specific combination of number that usually refer to some sort of meaning geared towards the 'wealth' side of things. Probably won't help you but thought I'd just pitch in.
Euro plates are damn sexy though. Wish I had em too.

personally if i was to get personalised number plates id make them something i could stick on future vehicles. like vw o12 luv, or vw luva or something similar. putting something like polo or evan golf just limits it, and looks very silly when driving a toyota yaris lol

Ok then. Maybe make the numbers reflect the kw rating? VW 110 or if you chip it, VW 155(?).

In sydney there one off fee $30 or $70 im not sure.. Then $100 a year BUT its just for the euro plate, not personalised letters and numbers.

In QLD it's about $200 (once off) to colourise your standard plate, $400ish to get a personalised one (normal or euro) and $2300ish to get a plate like mine.

No ongoing fees. You own the plate and don't need a car to put them on either.

all once off fees for plates in VIC,

euros are $650-$680 (forgot specifically how much) for custom and I think $100 less for standard issue.

$140 in the NT for 7 letter personalised plates...One off cost...

I'd go for something not too far out...I looked at getting them here in QLD, but I cant justify $2300 for 2 pieces of tin...Its a disgrace that they charge that.

I have personal plates on my car.

Dont really suit my car though as they were made up for my previous car and I just kept them..

Ever since people started posting quotes, I couldn't help thinking what a rort. For me, i'd put plenty of other mods way above altering the number plate. It's never really appealed to me anyway, but finding out what it'll cost just confirms it's something i'll never think of doing in future.
