Maybe to replace it, or connect something to it?!?

You need 4 of these type of tools; you can get them off other eBay sites.

      Here's one I prepared earlier!

When I did it, the bottom right key locked in and enabled me to pull the headunit out. I had troubles with the keys too, hence why they are still in the headunit lol!

              Try this eBay search

Word of advice: if you're buying those keys (or anything else) from eBay - avoid like the plague the seller called Autoware302.

Slowest service ever, and poorest packaging - I placed 2 orders and they stuffed everything into one unpadded thin envelope (but still charged me twice for P&H) one of the keys was poking halfway out of the envelope, it was a miracle I didn't lose anything.

OH and it took 5 weeks to arrive from the US as well. The amount of negative feedback on this mob should've told me something.

Disposable? They can be used over and over again 'til the cows come home but yes you could dispose of them after one use if your heart desires I s'pose. But considering they cost money+shipping to get I wouldn't recommend it.

The ones you could buy off eBay tend to be a bit flimsy but shouldn't give any problem - for a real quality item look to these if you could spare a few extra bucks. You'll need four of the ones that are shaped like steak knives.

I removed and replaced my original deck 2 months ago. Used 2 very flimsy keys not 4 and had no problems. Did the right side first and then the left. Takes patience and time however eventually got it out with no markings on the original stereo or surrounds.

Bought the full conversion kit: a single head fascia with pocket, wiring loom & plug so original wires are not touched and an antenna adapter from Autoware302 for approx $40 with postage and received no problems after only 5 days of paying thru ebay.

Installed rear speakers at the same time and it sounds a lot better than the stock unit.

If it helps, I've found this site, theres links in it with photos that guide and show you how to go removing the headunit without damage to the holding pins.

Thanks for the help guys, it seems like i'll have to get another 2 keys cos they're stuck in the top slots and it feels like something is gonna break if i pull too hard

I did the cheap way and just used two screw drivers to wedge the plastic fce off the unit then undo the clips holding the rest of the unit in place. Once out the plastic face just clips back on. Just needed to be careful not to scratch surrounding plastic.
