What was your original wheels offset? Mine are 38 and im worried that if i go for 17x7.5 they might not fit. Was yours 38 or 43?

i'd assume it's for the rexxies
easy fix on the 45 offset just get some spacers, I'd be more worried the centre bore will be too small but that can be machined out to the right size.

Im not sure. I bought the car with this suspension on it.

I bought the car from a friend who owned it for about 6 months prior to my purchase. He had the chip only done and suspension and ive done everything else.

I think they are just 1 inch lowered springs. They look stock so I think he had them re-set in the oven.

                  • Petrina your Polo looks lower than mine. And I've got H&R's already! I still have a gap between the arch and the top of my wheels.

                    • i think its because they are 18s they seem to fill the wheel arch better

                      • Hmm yeah you're right. I should've opted for 18's then.

Think you might find the lower profile rims to make the ride harsh.

The stock 16's are reasonably comfortable, not sure if I'd go to 17's, let along 18's...

                          • Hi,

Seriously on the 18's the ride is fine. Im more concerned abut damaging the rims because tyre is 35 series.

I dont notice much from the 16 inch wheels in terms of harshness.. 17s no problem, 18s still no problem.

                            • I've got 17's and the ride is still very comfortable. Certainly not bone jarringly hard.

What suspension are you running Sid? Just the H&R's or the Bilstens to match?
