Yeah, the wheels were cheap, $214 on Ebay. The seller had a few photos, but did not show the majority of the damage, I was originally hoping to put them straight on.
Props to PoloGTI for his DIY thread (here) which have me the belief I could pull this off.
Not sure what to do with the center caps. I've had the plastic outer piece sprayed, but I cant find VW version of the inner piece. They look pretty good without the centers at all, I think i'll run them that way to start with and take it from there...
For anyone thinking of buying wheels on ebay, use the search tool well. I was using a predefined search for: audi, vw, 100, golf & tt. It brought up most of the good options, although tbh there is not a lot that suits our cars out there frequently.
Visitors are always welcome when its car related. Lol
Don't have a name for the colour, the shop had a bunch of colour tags, I spent a while deliberating between a few shades of silver that were all pretty much the same in the end.
I'll see if I can find out some info on the shade and def get some pics up when they are on.
I ended up painting the wheel caps as they had 2 tones of silver which was going to look odd on the wheel.
I went for a red and black, yet to work out if I will keep the caps like this or change the colour:

The colour code is EA11950.
I was hoping the car would feel a little different with the extra width in the track and it does. It also feels a wee bit slower when taking off before boost comes in, but its very slight and I'm not sure if its there or I'm imagining it.
By my calcs, the center of the wheel is only 6mm wider each side, but there is a little stretch now too.
I'm running the same set of tyres, but there is definitely more grip in the cornering, not sure if this comes down to the wheel weight with my suspension, the stretch or the added track width.
