Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Re-setting service schedule

I did my last service on my TDI and my dash keep reminding me about that i need an inspection.

I want to reset it so it will remind me to take it for a service at 60,000km

Does anyone know how to reset the reminder in the dash???

      Or you can try this:
      Reset the display as follows:
      – Switch off ignition.
      – Press and hold button -1- next to speedometer.
      – Switch on ignition.

In display -1 (display unit in centre of dash panel insert) or -2- (display unit in speedometer) of dash panel insert (depending on vehicle equipment) in display unit -1- the note “Service IN” appears or “SERVICE SINCE” or in display unit -2- a “workshop symbol” or a “clock” is displayed. An overdue service is identified additionally by a “minus sign”.

      – Release button -1-.
      – Turn adjusting knob -1- next to speedometer to right.
The service displayed is being reset and the display in the distance display or centre display changes to the normal state.
      – Switch off ignition.

        okay

that works. haha. I just did it on mine.

You have to hold the button before you put the key in the ignition.

Then you will get a little spanner appear by itself

realease button and turn button right and hold

when it appears back at your km again

turn ignition off and take key out

        kdone
