Does the apr ecu upgrade require chip soldering or is it a computer re flash via diagnostic port i looked at the apr site and it talks about chip and solder .I had a 2004 forester and got mrt to do reflash and no soldering so can some one confirm which way the polo gti is done and how they change the program do they have a extra button installed or is it done like the golf gti using the cruise control stalk button?

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

There is no soldering required on the GIAC, Custom Code, APR, and REVO tunes for the Polo GTI.
Why not PM Seb(Bug Racer), as he is a GIAC dealer, and PM Guy, who Is the head APR rep for Australia, as these guys will be able to answer all of your Flash questions, and then some."If can't get behind your troops, feel free to stand in front of them..."
