Fair call. Lets agree to disagree. I would expect the gains to be had between having the grill on or off would be 2/3 of F all!

Many many 10 second cars have numberplates across there intercoolers. So i dont think its a big deal for a bit of plastic with holes in it.

"rice" would be if the intercooler was visible and not hooked up....

          would go well with...

Does anyone have any photos of a polo with the grill off?
If someone could post one, I would be very interested
to see what an exposed intercooler looks like.
                Thanks in advance, Jim

Ill post a picture of my car with no grill on and ill take my medicine if we collectively agree on rice or race spec..

It looks ok from far... up close you can see a few little holes where the grill clips into but because my car is black it cannot really be seen..

There is also a picture in the "meet my polo thread" plataus cattalini thread...

With that whistler.net link OMFG!!! how crap , as with the car above (VIP) I honestly dont class that as VIP, I would class it as TRY HARD.... lol I have and do read all sorts of car mags etc and have seen some real ricer cars and also some nice VIP cars...

My definition of ricer would be as the other person (cant member who) that ricing would be to mod a car in a way that they "look" fast without much effect (or however you worded it, sounded better)... I think the term is used or judged more on peoples personal opinions, (one may think it is, one may not)...

VIP on the other hand, is what i would class as a car with style or a car which looks "ganster" big bodykits with style that accentuates the curves rather than looking aggressive or "race" styled... hard for me too put my words to writing but i will post up a pic

                    regards...

mate i know what u mean but i disagree that mayb what it used to mean but i would say common terminalogy nowadays refers to anything where something has been made to look fast etc but is absolute crap i.e hyundai excel with 17" chrommies and fake front mount with wishlist stickers. Now that is rice but it isnt jap
