Can anyone confirm if this short shifter will work on a Polo GTI

aren't our shifters short enough for you? i don't think you can go much shorter. my Peugeot 206 GTi shifter was like a truck's compared to the Polo.... i find it really quick and tight.

p.s. your link goes to transmission pans....oops

Have changed the link. Thanks for that. No the shift is not short enough. I'm used to having short shifters in all my street cars so the Polo will be no different. Reading the specs this one will reduce the throw by approx 35-40%

heres the link tot he deiselgeek shift kits

Lost that Lovin' Feeling? Get it back! Dieselgeek shifters vastly improve VW Golf GTI and Golf R, TDI, R32, Jetta, New Beetle, Passat, Audi TT and Audi A3!

Ive got a 6 speed installed on my S3, and they will sell directly from the USA to you, which at current exchange rate, will be around Oz$340 including postage.

Note, it doesnt mention the Polo, so might be worth emailing them directly if yr interested

What's the difference between the Golf box and the Polo Box?

This shifter is supposed to be a generic for all VW 5 speed boxes from 01 upwards. The issue is that because the Polo isn't released in the states yet no one has made any parts specifically for them. I was hoping I could make this one work cause the only other option I've found will cost well over $550 + freight

it wont work guys if it is for in the engine bay, the design of the linkage or whatever it is is in opposite directions, I bought a HPA one ages ago with this idea in mind but hey if u want to go for it just ignore me

This is exactly the type of thing I wanted to hear. People who have actually tried to fit a golf one onto a Polo. Thanks for that Jason. I wasn't sure because there are so many interchangable parts between the 2 models. Obviously not this one though Oh well, will have to keep looking. Thanks all.........

That's the one I found too. It works out to be something stupid like $550 + freight

Not that keen unless we could get a massive discount on a group buy Would have to wait a while though, very strapped for cash ATM.
