How much are you being charged for freight on these exhausts? Awesome in the UK ( http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/ ) are charging GBP603.19 which is AU$1346.82 for a complete system at RRP. I think you need to find a new shipping method cause going off these prices you're getting charged $1000 for freight which seems a little excessive especially when you're looking at a group buy.

Markup, considering it's not just a group buy, it's his business.Originally posted by JCM308 View PostHow much are you being charged for freight on these exhausts? Don't forgot that when you bring in goods in excess of $1000 you have to factor in the 5% import duty on the value and then add another 10% GST on top of the full price including postage so that would be approx another $200+ and I think there is a $50 customs inspection fee as well. Also freight from the UK on such a large item would be at least $200AUS as well. Add your local markup and you are then left with a price pretty comparable to what GT3 has quoted. It all adds ups thats for sure. Plus don't forgot about warranty too. Anything bought overseas you can pretty much kiss your warranty goodbye.Originally posted by JCM308 View PostHow much are you being charged for freight on these exhausts? But having said all that I do agree that generally what we pay here in Oz is way way more expensive than what you pay overseas. And that goes for most things unfortunately. I don't know what arrangement Awesome has with Milltek bc they're selling those systems below RRP, they might have a bulk-buy deal, it's hard to say without knowing the facts. One thing you need to be aware of is bringing Millteks into Australia isn't simply paying freight and that's it. It includes the cost of freight (not cheap), duties payable (on purchases over 1k), then GST is applied to both. This is why individual systems aren't cheap.Originally posted by JCM308 View PostHow much are you being charged for freight on these exhausts? Bends
Hey guys,
Sounds great, but I've inspected both APR and Miltek full exhausts and I'd have to say although very shiney the Miltek one is no where as nice as the APR. Bends and welds I'm talking about. Not trying to start a debate just what I see thats all. And no I don't have either fitted to my car. Cheers'Joe Chu

Unfortunately that would be the same with anything (possibly even the one through Evolve unless they offer their own warranty). I work in imports and know how it works. The companies are happy to sell you the goods but will never offer international warrantyOriginally posted by mozzzy_2000 View PostDon't forgot that when you bring in goods in excess of $1000 you have to factor in the 5% import duty on the value and then add another 10% GST on top of the full price including postage so that would be approx another $200+ and I think there is a $50 customs inspection fee as well. 10% that's ridiculous. Our company only pays 5% on the goods we import. It sux that the government wants to charge so much just because they can. Maybe through Awesome they could offer a group buy price of AU$999.99ea so the duty is waived (send them as individual items but purchased as a group)
Take that KRudd!!!!!!

Because Milltek are well covered around Australia I would imagine that the warranty stands if you buy through an "authorised' Australian stockist such as Evolve. Would that be corrent GT3? Its obviously a different story if you go it alone and import one yourself? Thats I thought it would be anyway. If its purchased through an Oz shop it virtually has to have some sort of warranty by law doesn't it?APR V2 Tuned, APR Dogbone mount, APR R1 DV, K&N Panel Filter, SEAT Intake, Forge TIP & FSB, Bilstein & H&R, Whiteline RSB, Full Milltek 2.5" exhaust

Alot of companies will not offer a warranty to their distributors unless they are a remote office for them (eg Sony aus is affilliated with Sony Japan) so the distributor is left to provide a warranty on the items.Originally posted by mozzzy_2000 View PostBecause Milltek are well covered around Australia I would imagine that the warranty stands if you buy through an "authorised' Australian stockist such as Evolve. I've been working in Imports for the last 10 years and that's always been my expirience. Also have many friends in the importing game from various markets and they have the same issues.
I'd say that if Evolve sell them the warranty is from Evolve not Milltek. End of the day there's not much that can go wrong with an exhaust (thankfully) so it's up to the person which way they want to go.

evolve's associated company (FRS) has been selling Millteks for 7 years - zero warranty claims in 7 years. We work closely with workshops located across all major cities in Australia - any issues - we'd arrange to have it sorted locally.
Milltek state the following in terms of warranty:
"As long as you are the original purchaser, cat-back exhaust systems are covered by a lifetime anti-corrosion and manufacturing defect warranty and hi-flow sports catalysts and downpipes are covered by a 2 year or 80,000km warranty...
....All warranty cases should be dealt with by the Milltek appointed distributor from whom you purchased the system. However, if you are dissatisfied with the service of your distributor in response to your claim, you can contact us directly by emailing us at techsupport@millteksport.com."

Thanks Neil for the clarification! Good to know that they are behind their product and obviously very proud of their quality.Originally posted by GT3 View Postevolve's associated company (FRS) has been selling Millteks for 7 years - zero warranty claims in 7 years. Another thing to consider is this
Peak Performance at Parramatta NSW is selling the Milltek system for $1528.00 ex gst. It has a clause that pricing is subject to change due to the dollar but the good thing is the AUD hasn't dropped much against the Euro and even less against the GBP so this pricing should be pretty accurate.
