  • Chipped Polo GTI

I have chipped my polo, but i dont get that no traction for 1st to 3rd gear that kind of thing at all...

Not as powerful as i expected...

I got 17" 205 contis, is that because of the tyres?

Waiting for APR's easter sales for a dump pipe...

What chip you got. I'm guessing APR. Put it on a dyno if your really worried it will let you know if your in the ballpark for figures.

On another note why are you wanting to loose traction. Traction is your friend.

    What rims are they.

      I got REVO...

I got the advanti maze r, i am still trying to squeze some time to give it a good wash and take some photos...

I want traction, but as described by other member, the polo will be so powerful after chipped and should break traction easily..

      Which i dont get...

The peak boost i have got is 1.6 kpa...

I must say I get wheelspin easily.

Are you sure it's 1.6 kPa and not BAR. If it's BAR that's 23psi.

Don't believe all you read on the Internet.I had Oettinger chip, full exhaust,Seat intake, and 128kw at the wheels.
I never had any real "traction" problems unless you dumped it in 1st.
Still managed 14.4 for the 1/4 mile.
As for people with traction problems in 2nd and 3rd........riiiiight.
            Cheers

LOL well said Len. I can't say I loose traction in 2nd or 3rd either. In first however it will light up at 3000 rpm when full boost kicks in. But my tyres are stuffed.

With my old Toyo T1-R's i had traction issues (full wheelspin) the whole way through first and the whole way through 2nd (flooring it). They were not bald either, about 30% rubber left. They were seriously dangerous rubber. I changed them due to some nail issues . Now with my Marangoni's if i REALLY push it i will lose traction through first (but only chips into the road), no wheelspin in 2nd though, maybe a little chirpie after a quick change . through 3rd it's pretty much not possible, except when it's wet!

This is exactly what I have and otherwise I don't lose traction if not for the road (wet, bumpy etc). My tyres are gettin a bit worn now and still hold on pretty well.

Mine breaks traction in 1st as well, however, it will also do it in 2nd as well .... I've just put it down to the crap Conti's that are on it so I know not to use full throttle in 1st or 2nd unless wanting to act like a fool.

Not as powerful as you expected? Something doesn't sound right...when I pick up my APR'd chipped car...it was like a totally different car!!
                      Maybe get it checked.

That may or may not be the case, but that is not the way new members here generally introduce themselves and not the way this forum is conducted. We like civility and constructive comment rather than abuse, how about you tell us a little about yourself?

1st, it is not my claim, i saw it in this forum from another thread...

2nd, you got a chipped polo?

That can happan if i put some really crap tyres on... (i swapped my friend's 40% thread left goodyear f1 and get that 1st and 2nd wheel spin..., but noway in the conti...)

I am sorry, my question is a bit subjective here...

For people who use to driver corollas or whatever, polo is a beast for them...

I drove quite a few "fast" car, golf gti mk 5, Audi S3, S6, S8, BMW 740 <---i also think they are not as fast as i expected.

                          I also drove NSX, evo 7, 22b, rx7, s15 and a mazda 3 mps <--- these are fast...

The chipped did make a big difference to the car, but it is still noway as good as a s15 or a evo (maybe it is the way the car drive rather then against the clock, some car wont impress you but the clock, like the RS6)...

And i am not sure what the unit is... but it will reach 1.6 in my boost gauage, it is a defi gauage, i will check out the unit later...

I think it might due to my bov? I got a atmospheric one...

It will start to have wheel spin around 4000rpm on my new conti 95% thread... and it will make another wheel spin while full on 1st to 2nd...

By the way, the polo will beat a stock 350z(auto) by 1 car length to 0-400... (track tested) (if i do well...)

Nah, i mean wheel spin all the way from 1st to 3rd...

My high school mates are a branch of rich kids, change cars all the time, it was very common for them to drive porshes and euro car to school...

I saw a SL55 lost traction at around 130km/h (dunno which gear, possibily 3rd maybe?), i put next to him on the high way, he floors it, i see a lot of smoke and heard wheel spin, and his car disappear in 3 seconds...

I drove the 22b in New Zealand around 10 years ago in high school, he got the car around $120000 NZD and put another 150000 NZD to mod it.. The car end up with an accident, and my friend lost 1 arm and 1 leg, nothing from the car comes up undamaged...

WRX is a great car, bang for your bucks, but there are a lot of other cars out there mate...
