Need a popcorn option so it's easier to see the results for those who it's not applicable too. Therefore I voted 87W to keep whoever voted for it first company. :p
That's a nice little upgrade there Shane, what kind of dollars do those go for a set?
Also love how stock photos of tyres are as so much fat like they should be on the back of some drag V8 monster.
    Cheers,

That explains it. I was hoping you'd be able to put me onto some secret source

So the 16s are your track rims?

Ben your tyres maybe W87 but is that what the tyre placard says? As i wouldnt have thought they would have changed that just because they changed tyres. And I'm pretty sure ad07 are W83.

Is the deal that you can have anything with a number equal or higher than the one on the plaquard?

Well thats what i would have thought, The W is a speed rating. and the 2 digits are the wieght code. The higher the digits the heavier the tyres can handle. so if i have less then 83 and i have an accident they could void the warranty if i have higher then i should be all good.

My placard says 83w Shane... I went with the T1R as the orignal Conti's had an 87w load rating - Well that and I forgot to check the stupid placard

I think the T1R may be the sweetspot for road driving, the R1R's have a treadwear rating of only 140 (T1R = 280)

I have now driven ~350kms on the T1R's and they have started to scrub in a bit as they don't feel as 'skatey'... They are much stiff than the Conti's and turn in is nice and crips plus you can hear start to bite into the road when the stock tyres would have started to feel a bit like they were trying to roll over the rim

If you havent already bought these tyres. PM me or contact me.

They are horrible. Understeer ahoy. Traction ahoy. They are hard. They are rough. They are noisey.

AD07's had maximum grip. And were 220 dollars.

R1R's go for 200 at tyres and more.

I think Kai is talking about the R1R's

I had a set of both normal Yokohama's and Advan's on a previous cars.... Sure they handle great andthey are also great if you like changing them every 15,000kms cause they are so stupidly soft!!!

Shane from what I have read, the R1R is practically a street legal morotsport tyre and is designed for running in the ST street car class in the States. Most of the drivers shave them close to a slick!!!

If you guys are looking at other Semi slicks, Beaurepairs can get the Federal 595RS in 205/45 16 for $320 fitted. My 595RS's have lasted just over 20,000km now, and I think I will see about another 15 to 18,000km out of them.
