Do you know what identified it as an 'undercover' police car? Pretty strange choice I would have thought.

Hehe well yes that would definately indentify it! lol May have been a "D" in his private car perhaps? Not sure why the police depart would be using a polo when they have their own V8 beasts. Not taking anything away from our beloved little pog but it wouldn't be the first choice of pursuit vehicle that comes to my mind.

Well as has been said in the Qld spotted section, we've had an undercover black Golf GTI as well as a black SS ute and other unmarked cars. They change these cars up regularly and also swap the number plates so noone can get used to them. These "cops" are the scum of the earth and their sole purpose is to revenue raise for the government. Won't continue on as this makes me so mad.
                Cheers,

In a perfect world, yes. But a good police officer knows the difference between someone who is driving dangerously and illegally compared with someone who is accidentally driving 5km/h over the speed limit or does something like passing through an orange light unintentionally only to get pulled up and have the book thrown at them over what should have been let go completely or brought to their attention and a verbal warning issued.

Unmarked cars are introduced in these instances soley to book every poor bastard they can doing anything even moderately wrong.

Problem is you define a hoon for me? Because I've heard too many stories of people being done under hoon laws for doing nothing more than giving it a bit of stick away from the lights amongst other stupid reasons.
I've got all my points and have never had a fine but the rules are flawed and people who enforce them would book their own mother.
What about having propper police officers in marked cars on the road deterring people from doing the wrong thing? Why is it that whenever you see a police car on the highway everyone brake and slows down causing massive traffic hazards and erratic behavious. This shows a distinct fear of the people who we are meant to trust to protect us.
What happened to the girls who were assaulted a suburb away from my house last year, what about the boy who was nearly abducted at the bus stop near my house, what about the all the people who have been stabbed in the Sunnybank area by street gangs? A propper police force who actually were after the real criminals instead of making all of us feel like one would be a much better start. But sorry I don't believe there's any money to be made there.
I'd like to discuss driver training, offensive and misleading expensive advertising wasting taxpayer funds and road maintenance too but I fear most have tuned out a long time ago.
Sorry I can't help the ranting.
                      Cheer,
                      Trent
Edit: Preen's response is pretty much a more concise version of my little rant.

                          Hehe..
I'm picturing the funniest little pic in my head of a Polo with its flashing lights pulling over a big SS or an XR8.

It might not be as menacing as an xr8 or SS to look at, but they no doubt would do a fantastic job of keeping up. Better on fuel too!

We have an unmarked Jetta 2.0L T on "Hoon Patrol" up here...I have seen it out up here with the Qld transport guys and their "Shaker Trailer".
I have respect for the GD cops that get out there and get their hands dirty, but I have no love for the revenue raisers in the unmarked Hoon Patrol cars. I have worked at a Police Workshop, and have seen the cars they are coming out with. Even in the police force, Highway cops are considered scum.
