I was hoping I would get new wheels too... But the stock design has grown on me and I think the 16" rim size suits the Polo to a tee...

If only Lenso sold these in Aus I would get them in a heartbeat!!!!

Hahaha.... you guys are killing me.

I found this link which explains in a lot of detail how to sand, putty, prime and paint a scuffed rim.

          http://www.bmwtips.com/tipsntricks/w...uff-repair.htm

He mentions that "the WURTH wheel paint (silver) is used for ALL German painted wheels." Is this true? I did a quick google search and couldn't come up with anything that supported this. Last thing I want is to have a different coloured wheel.

I'm pretty good with masking/painting so I'm rather keen to give this a go. I figure if I balls it up, I can always get it fixed for roughly the same cost as I would if I were to get it fixed now.

if it makes you feel any better....

after fitting a set off BBS RM's 15 x 8's all round on my sportline, my missus dropped my off in the city...2 hours later she rang me crying, she had hit the kurb and scuffed one of the wheels badly....the rims haven been on the car more than 12 hours!!!!!

THat sucks, i too managed to do my own last week. very stupid, and damage probably similar or a bit worse that that.

im due a tyre rotation, but im gonna ske them to swap the tyres so that the front rim is staying put.

As far as the Mrs driving goes. it could be so much worse.

this is what mine did a couple of months ago...

My wheels are still ok, but seeing the regular car park carnage on our Territory I am very nervous about letting my better half drive the Polo "unsupervised" ie when I am not pissed in the passenger seat.

Sure enough a few weeks ago I take her car to get serviced. Walk in the door that night and the first thing my five year old says is "your not going to be happy..."

Story goes like this: "your car doesn't have a reverse sensor and I was being so careful not to look behind me before I pulled out, that by the time I moved another car had appeared"...a nice solid 1980s Volvo, no less, driven by a friend of the uninsured owner (heard that before?).

Amazingly, just a small dint in the bumper over-rider and I don't think I'll bother fixing it. If it wasn't for our 5 year old I would probably have been blaming someone in the car park at work
