  • Tryes size for our Polo GTI

    Hi folks,
    Just wondering can a 215 45 R17 run on our Polo GTI?
    I knew some of our mates is running on a 215 40 R17,

    so just wondering can our polo run on 215 45 R17, without having any problem?

    as far as i know you will get rubbing, never tried it myself though..... also it will throw your speedo way out of wack, and looks stupid (tractor-like).

    i have 205/40 R17 and my speedo seems to be pretty accurate.

          Just ordered and it will arrive at the end of Jan!!
          and will be running on 215 40 R17!

            Dam they are pretty slick looking rims ey. They'll look hot against the white duco. Where's the best place to get Oz rims? Easily the best finished rims I've seen. I bet they don't come cheap.

                im waiting for mine wheel to arrive too!

                gonna go for 215/40/17 too.

                deciding what tyre to get though

                any good sugestion guys?

                        and check with polo9N.info
                        if it is 8x17 ET35 I need to use 205/40 R17 or 225/35 R17
                        If it is 7x17 ET38 I need to use 205/40 R17 or 225/35 R17

                        215/40 R17 is only for Cross and Fun polo.

                          Not sure it is legal to run 8 inch wide rims on the Gti. You are only allowed an extra inch on the maximum width on the tyre placard.

                            Ya still need to wait for the wheel arrive and check with the tyre as well

                              A 205 tyre is 8 inches wide & is best suited to a 8" wide rim. Would there be a problem with that since they're already stock 205s on an under sized 6.5" stock rim?
