Nice rims! Sorry I can't answer your question but when you find what your looking for check the weight of the rim compared to stock. Reason being the OZ brand of wheel are very strong and good quality but they do make some of the most heavy performance rims on the market. Watch out for the whole unsprung weight problem which will ultimately make your polo more slugish off the mark. But don't worry too much if your going for looks
Dam thats a nice rim! I am somewhat supprised that they recommend a 225 tyre on a Polo GTI though! I'd say you may run in to some rubbing issues with a tyre of that size especially with a 45 profile. Also a 17"/45 profile tyre will put your speedo out a few kms so be aware of that. A 17"/40 rim & tyre combo is closet approximation to stock wheel size.
You can squeeze a 205 tyre on a 8" wide rim. Infact its the ideal size for a 205 tyre as the tyre is 8" wide itself. What this does is also makes the sidewall really stiff and it will improve handling. If you look at the stock 205 on the stock rim you should notice that the tyre is actually much woider than the 6.5" rim and there is lots of spare tyre rim not being used.
Mozzzy spot on with the speedo info, I'm currently running 205/40R17 rubber at the moment on 17X7.5" rims and the tyre is slightly stretched and the rim does pertrute a little. For better handleing I would suggest 215/40R17 with a 17x7.5 rim and 225/40R17 with 17X8". I think you will find a better rim/tyre wall marriage with these combos.
Kelvin those rims are really heavy and you will probably need to go to a 35profile to get the tyres to fit without rubbing. And if you are going to lower the car you will have no chance of a rub free ride.
Please remember the OEM wheels are only 16x6.5" so you are going 1.5" wider on a small car with relatively narrow guards. Before I got my current set up without the rolled guards it was a very snug fit.
Just figured out why the web site is giving bogus fitments, it's and American site and the polo was never released so therefore your selected vehicle which is 2006 Volkswagen GTI 1.8T Old is the MK4 Golf GTI which seems to have heaps more guard clearence
Yep that's what I'm running at the moment on 7" wide rims and they a little stretched, if you are still considering those 17X8" OZ rims with 205/40R17 tyres they will be stretched a whole 1 inch more.

Hope this helps
Hi mate, thank you for your advice! i'm now still looking for the rims, and i found out this rims are pretty nice on a polo, on the other hand i'm a dummy in wheels size, so i'm now keep searching on it...
from your advice, the rims doesn't fit on my polo if i got them on, it will looks like a 4x4 GTI??
and i might lower the polo in the future, and get a better handleing...
would you mind to post a pic and see how your 17" rims looks like on your GTI?
I like the 2nd option in black and you may fit a 215/40R17 or 215/35R17. I'm sure your wheel and tyre guy will point you in the right direction! Post some pics when your done
