  • 16mm forge spacers

just a few questions, are they street legal? any disadvantage of using them? what is the widest alloy i can fit with these babys (preferably 17' X ??) with out rubbing or serious ride comfort reduction. sorry attempted to google these questions but cant seem to get any answers. cheers

Not legal, can cause excessive wheel bearing wear as well.
Insurance company would be a problem too.

Being illegal isnt a worry. And hardly ever cause wheel bearing wear.

Its the insurance company issue that will get you.

some one on here had headaches with 8mm spacers on standard wheels so be careful.

yeah. Too fit them you will need new longer studs.

hmmm still not sure, has anybody read or had bad experiances with them. i read somewhere that 16mm spacers would equate to an extra 32mm of axle space (an extra half inch and a bit each side) meaning 17x8' could be put on the car without rubbing. i know its not much but from what ive read the biggest problem our little polo gti's have is getting the power to the ground. this may help a lil

if you havent had trouble putting the power to the ground yet. I wouldnt worry. As its not really going to do much.

any danger in running wider spacers on the back than the front?
