Here is some more info on the upcoming Polo and Audi A1

It seems that the Polo is built on a FWD only platform. The A1 on a slightly different modular (more expensive) platform that can accept AWD.

It looks like it will be sold in the USA... that means there could be a plethora of aftermarket tuning upgrades for it (like the Golf)

i think that is the Polo Cross from what i can gather so it's probably a bit more chunky than what the 'regular' Polo will look like.

Automotive News have confirmed that the next Polo WILL be sold in America.
As the US is sedan crazy,we should expect a booted version,which would almost be like a Baby Jetta.
That would be called the Polo Classic.
The current sedan is the top selling car in South Africa,and is also sold in South America,China,and parts of Europe.

I struggle to think of a single decent looking hatch-based sedan that doesn't look like it's got a back end grafted on (worst culprit: Echo/Yaris, the Polo's not far off) hope they won't make a mess of it.

The rear end of the current Jetta looks quite nice for a sedan based on a hatch... front end is the let down .

my next door neighbour has a Polo sedan. the model with the round lights at the front.. she loves my gti..

Yes Pertina,that is the current Polo Classic,which has been facelifted since it was sold here.
It was a flop,because it was imported from China,sold with a small engine,only manual at first,and very pricey at the time.
A Corolla sedan was far superior value,and thats what the public bought.
They were sold in 2004-2005.
