  • Exhaust gas warning lamp???

Hi guys, I was driving my pogo gti this morning back from work and the exhaust gas warning lamp went on so I pulled to one side of the road and popped the bonnet and realised that one of the hoses that connects to the silver thing (sorry, don't know what its called) that attaches to one side at the top of the engine was broken. So when I got that fixed and reattached it when I got home but for some reason the light remains lit. Any suggestions on what needs to be done? Everything else seems to be connected and nothing else broken. Does the light have to be reset by the dealership or should it go away when the fault is fixed? I couldn't find any further info on this in the owners manual.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Was the light flashing or is it staying on?

That can be a whole bunch of things and could be unrelated to the broken hose. I suggest taking it to the dealer to get it checked out.

I had that light come on and it was an issue with a fuel purge valve, but have heard of O2 sensor failures and others (cant remember of the top of my head) which are also caused by that light.

The light just stays on and doesn't flash. Would it require the dealer to reset the system to stop the light coming on? I've looked at the other hoses and everything else seem okay. I installed the forge tip last week and the Forge splitter valve and didn't have any problems until today when the hose broke. I hope its nothing big. Just wondering if there's anything wrong with driving it cause I need it today and tomorrow.

You may need to head off to the dealer to get it reset. May not be a biggy, but they may look at the TIP and the D/V and start asking questions.

Hmm I certainly hope that all it require is for the light to be reset. Might have to take off the splitter valve prior to bringing it in. Can't be bothered taking off the forge tip though as it an absolute pain and takes ages to take off and put back on. Anyways, thanks guys for your valuable opinions. I'll tkae it to the dealership tomorrow.

          Cheers.
