  • Oops... underbody protection plastics

    Hi guys,

Again... I went over some lowish curbs (I did this before in Feb this year).

I parked my close on side of the road, forgot I had a divider in front, and it was uphill, so I went over those after starting the car.

As usual some plastic cracking noise... luckily it was low enough to clear my H&R lowered bumper, and tyres are all fine. It did however scratch the mid plastic protector panels (which are fairly low) which has some scratches underneath, but still all in one piece with no holes.

It drives normally, and alignment didn't seem to have been affected.

    Should I be worried??

Wish I have a hoist at home, to just bring it up to get it checked over quickly.

I backed out of my mate's driveway early this morning and did the same. Deep gouges under the front left on the plastic, luckily nothing on the paint.

Even though I was going very slow, it made a hell of a noise and scared me a little. Sounded a lot worse than it looks. Like insanekiwi, I too am wondering if there is anything to be worried about?

      That sounds pretty painful too...

Polos seem to have lower protection plastics between the wheels (front and back).

I've mildly cracked the passenger side just in front of the rear wheels where it dips down, and I mended it with black silicon.

The plastics I scratched deeply this time was right in the middle, Not broken by what I can see.

Hopefully this doesn't affect the car, it's supposed to be a protection plate right???

Anyway, I better get it up on the hoist and get it looked at.
