    I have just recieved my hottuning coilovers, does anyone have info on polo suspension, Like pages from a manual or something?

    I'm a mechanical fitter but this is the first time i have touched the suspension on a new car like this.

    should be just straight in & out.
    front might be more tricky.

      I thought It was a bit of a bastard of a job pulling the McPherson Struts out of the front. You will need a your basic sockets(13mm socket and ring spanners will com in very handy). I also had use of my mates 2 post hoist, which made things so much more helpful!!
      I removed the hub nut from the drive shaft and removed the 3 bolts from the Ball Joint mount, the Tie Rods, from the steering, and the Sway bar mounting points and then the brake calipers so I could swing the whole assembly out of the way.
      The drive shaft spline can be tight to get out(WD-40 or Lanolin spray comes in handy here), and the point where the McPherson Strut joins the Hub Housing can be tight too(once again, WD-40 here, or Lanolin spray). There is a single multi spline bolt head(unsure of what size, but mat be a 13mm) that clamps the Hub Housing to the Strut on each side. I used a Cold Chisel to wedge open the clamp so that I could slide out the Strut.
      This all goes back together in the same order substituting your own parts.
      The Rear springs took about 10 mins. I just undone the bottom shockie bolts and then raised the car up, and allowed the springs to drop out of their own accord. I have not fully removed the shockies before, so you will have to investigate this further...
      DISCLAIMER...:This is my own take on how I did it. There may be other ways to do it, but this was the easiest way I found. Sorry, this was the rare occasion that I didn't take pictures of the work, as I was fighting my own temper, and the camera would have ended up wedged in the Besa Brick wall of my mates workshop!!

        For the ~$350 it costs to pay a professional?? Thats my recommendation.
