Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • I just got dumped!!

Well, I got dumped at last.
H&R Springs and Bilstien shocks. I'm no expert but I can say the difference between OEM suspension and this fitout is outstanding, almost feels like I'm driving a different car..awesome...big thanks to Neil for getting this in.
Handles like a dream, no crashes or thumps or bumps from underneath and strange as it sounds less lurch on acceleration..why did I put this off for so long. Next now that I just recieved an nice tax return a set of superturismos is on the cards so if anyones after some 4 week old 17x7 Lenso type M's PM me...perfect nic...oh hang on I'd better head to the classifieds section....

re-read the first post, -35 as the standard B12 kit swap in HR springs it drops an extra 10 in the back making it -45

so I guess that explains part of it.

I read that but if i have really understand, the Bilstein B12 kit come in two configuration :

                          - SE5-8850 --> Bilstein shocks and Bilstein springs
                          Front Lowering
                          30
                          Rear Lowering
                          25

                          - SE5-8861 --> Bilstein shocks and H&R springs
                          Front Lowering
                          35
                          Rear Lowering
                          35

Here is my understanding but maybe i made a mistake....
Anyway, i have already made a purchase on the second configuration.
So, i'll see what it is !!

I thought it was 35 all round till you brought it up, either way it will look good.

It is GT3's kit but when measured by the suspension guys the came up with 40mm at the rear and 25mm at the front...don't know if thats how its meant to be or not but works GREAT for me.

Hey whubs copy away I just put diff rims on anyhow, hehe. Got the Type m's for sale, its a killer look but me with a crook back hard to clean.
