  • Diverter Valve question

Im a little bored of my Polo Gti.. It has the APR diverter valve fitted..

I was thinking of detaching one end and have it blow to atmosphere. I dont see a performance gain, just something a little different. Will I get error codes etc? Ill chuck on the end a baby filter from supercheap and plug up the hole on the intake pipe where it blows into..

This is an old XR6T trick everyone used to do..

You will get a code...I tried it with my Forge BOV, which I tried as a fully atmospheric one day...I got about 300m up the road before it spat the dummy and went into Limp Home Mode...
I just reverted back to the Duel Port set up...
If you want a Duel Port BOV, a couple of us have got the Forge one, and have done a thread on it, just have a look in the search function.

DUB 20V, you should know that a full atmo BOV will throw codes and put the car into limp mode, we're trying to help someone, not scam them.

as for you GTI POLO, basically what ryan (blitzen) said, it just wont work. i currently have the Turbosmart Dual Port BOV, which recently threw a DV code at a dyno day (however it never went into limp). i since have tightened the setting up and it has not had the same problem. the turbosmart one also comes with a screw in plug if you ever want to unscrew the trumpet and block off the atmo outlet to make it a full plumb-back.

                  Since the last thread.

                  Ive now been 105000k's.

Still 0 shaft play either way.

Other then sites like turbosmart and Forge who are going to obviously say its bad so they can sell there product. There isnt much on the internet about it. Other then retards arguing over the internet about it. Ive done it on all my cars. And will continue to do it. Other car. GT42R + 30psi. Not a problem.

                        Well duh.

It ****s me in all the threads how everyone says you get problems. Saying it without actually having any proof.

Don't want to start a new thread. Can someone tell me how my car will benefit from a APR R1 diverter valve, in simple mans terms - what does it do?
I have APR V2 software, SEAT air hose etc...

                              Thanks
