  • Intermittent coolant leak

Hi All, shout out to the 9N3 Community, cant believe I still own mine after 13 od years of stalking these boards, has been a great little pocket rocket!

Just noticed today a random coolant leak whilst doing a service on the Polo, checked over every corner of the cooling system and it appears to be coming from beneath the timing belt assembly which leads me to believe its the water pump or pump gasket, yet I have probably been driving for weeks since it occurred and it has only lost a small quantity of coolant.. Only started looking after i noticed a couple of red drops on the garage floor.

The pump was changed with the timing belt at 90k back in 2017, currently at 136k

Is my water pump on its way out prematurely? anyone else ran into this with their 1.8t?

    Cheers

    Waterpump is a likely cause.

Drats, not an easy fix. Hopefully it holds out a couple more weeks.
