  • Urgent!!after replace FERODO 2500, the brake light always on~ even unplug the sensor.

    Hey everyone, I have a very urgent question! Just replace the Ferodo front and rear pads today, after that, the brake light always on, the people from workshop unplug the sensor, said all the ferodo pads can not contect the sensor, but the brake light still on, he has checked the brake oil, and installation work..everything, Just can not get rid of the light. Can anyone tell me what is going on? When you replace the new aftermarket brake pads.. Is it like mine as well? How to solve the brake light problem? Thanks, I will be waiting here for the answers. By the way ,the job has been done from V-SPORT MELBOURNE.

    To quote Eddy in the earlier Ferodo 2500 thread ..."Fitting Ferodos, you'll find that there is no low wear indicator wires on the pads (near side (left) front inside), so you'll have to bridge the wiring going to that location to stop the low brake indicator light from coming on all the time."

      Is it hard to be done? how come the guy at V-SPORT konw nothing about it? I am going to drive the car back for fixing the light problems. What do I need to tell him to do? Can you please tell me the process a bit more specificly? then I can explain to him to fix the problem. Thanks

        The easy way is to cut the wires from the old pad & join together then insulate. You can pull the existing insulating sleeve back, then turn the joined wires back into it.

          Hey Eddy, thanks for your advising. the wires from the old pad seems very short, it looks like only 2-3CM, is it can be used? Do you think if I drive the car back they can fix it for me without charging me? if they are going to charge extra money do you think how much is reasonalbe?Thanks.

            PM. answered & I'll post this for others.

            First of all you can't use the wires or the low brake light with the Ferodo pads.
            The wires on the pad are about 15cms, you cut them off at the pad, whats left is a plug & wires that plug in on a bracket mounted on the shock absorber. The idea is to join together these wires so that the sensor still thinks that it has plenty of pad left. Doing this will mean that the light will never come on. If you are worried about this, you'll have to go back to the originals or something like EBC or one that has wires on the pad, but don't be worried its only a luxury.
            The boys at V-sport should be able to sort it out OK.
