Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Gearbox issue??

    Hi,

Im off to VW for Warranty on Monday.. 2 questions..

    1. They are doing the Gearbox oil change. When I drive the car there is no real problem but a slight whirring noice as coasting through the gear, probably more so on slowing down.. Is that normal? It has 12,500km on it

    2. Also I have a Peugeot 206 Gti as well.. When I drive it, a quickish gear change will see a slight jerk or clunk when releasing the clutch.. Its very slight. If changing slowly (releasing clutch slowly) there is no jerk.. Is there something wrong with the clutch?

My Polo does what your 206 does, was waiting for my service and was going to get it checked out.
