    Squeaky bed creaks

Hi guys. I'm new to this so please excuse the naivety. Since the weather's been getting hotter, my beetle has begun to sound like on old bed. Mainly happens when I'm using the aircon. As soon as I hit bumps, or spoon drain etc, it creaks and can be heard inside and outside the car. It sound like something's dry or rubbing in the suspension, but the local mechanic can't find a problem. It's getting embarrassing. Any ideas?

Could be dry sway bar bushes.

Blitzen , exactly exactly exactly mate. It will be the bushes, however the sleeve on the sway bar itself is bad for cracking too, so new bushes are a fix for a while then it comes back. VW fix is to change the whole sway bar, done heaps on Audi TT for the same thing. We did one that got 3 bars so on the 3rd it had to stop. We fitted non wearing Glassy bushes, these sat nicely on the swaybar then the bush on top of that. Fixed for good. When the sleeve on the sway bar cracks it twists on bumps inside the bush casing the squeeky bed syndrome.

My few month old Polo has just developed an intermittent dry mousy squeak that sounds like its coming from the driver's door internals. Haven't decided whether to fix it myself or take it the the dealer first..... I think a fix for a door squeak was mentioned somewhere here - adding a thin rubber gasket to door lock

Yes bud that was mine However it wasnt for a squeek more a rattle. The squeek you are talking about sound like you need to silicone lub the inner and outer door aperture seals

Hi guys. I'm a noob to this site (this is my first post). I have two squeaks in my Polo Gti. The first one is when it's hot, my steering wheel squeaks when turning left! The second one is a bit wierd but i'll explain and see if anyone else has it.

Quite often I have my back seats down, so that I can stick my mountain bike in the back. There's a little air vent on the inside right down on the tailgate lip (think it's to let air out). It's got a rubber flap on the inside of it and at idle the rubber flap, well, flaps a lot - loudly! Frickin annoying when I'm at lights etc. You can't hear it when the seats are up and the shelf is in place though (and the music is loud of course). Spoke to the dealer at last service and he told me that if I wanted to fix it myself I was welcome haha. W**ker!

I like the site btw. Don't want to change thread but i'm going to go get an APR tune just from reading what you guys say!

Not sure either! We'd have to take off the inner plastic to get to the flap. Then could either: a) remove the flap, b) stick it down or c) put some soft felt around the plastic hole so that the rubber flap is flapping against that instead of hard plastic.

or D) Rev the t*ts off the car whilst waiting at the lights haha. Note: I only seem to get this happening at idle - must be resonanting with the exhaust or something?

I might have a go at it this weekend. Maybe!....
