  • Boot actuator issue

I’ve picked up a 2006 TDI Polo and have a few things to fix up on it. I read that the boot actuator falls out and prevents the boot electrically operating. I pulled mine apart today and same issue. The actuator had vibrated it’s screws out and had fallen off ripping the wires out of the plug. I’ve fixed the wires but there was only one Torx machine screw remaining.

Does anyone have a picture of how the actuator was mounted? The housing has brass inserts, not sure if the screw went in from the back, if so I’ll have to pull the whole lock mechanism out to get in behind to screw it in.

Will be putting Loktite on it this time.

My screws fell out as well. I think they go in from the back. I just cable tied it back in [emoji12]
