i'm pretty sure the bose system is a luxury option (with the leather seats etc.) in the SP23. AFAIK the MPS gets it standard.

the bloody SP23 gets BOSE.....and we get a brand of light bulb.

I'm not sure... but if you listen you should be able to hear what song it is.

Certainly is a option - I use to have a SP23 without the BOSE pack as I knew I was going to rip it all out anyway.

I have to say I much prefer the sound of these Philips speakers compared to the BOSE crap in my fathers Mazda 6. But sound is a subjective thing unfortunately

Won't stop me changing the speakers in the GTI though, it's on the cards.

when you say Philips all I think of is the tape deck in our old family FORD Laser... I'm fine with the speaker but wouldn't mind changing the head unit to the pioneer double din sat/nav dvd player thing but thats more cash than I have to spend at the moment, wheels and suspension first.

The stock ICE is quite decent just like E46 325. Good clarity and bass, just lack solidness and separation. I'm thinking of getting the HU changed to old school Alpine 7998R or 7935, Scanspeaks Reveletors drivers and 12" sub, TRU T4.150 amps. Should be alright for entry level system.

Plenty of room in the kick panels, or up a little higher if you need the real estate.

the stock phillips speakers are decent enough - ive got the rear ones still connected to my aftermarket headunit and ive got a set of MB Quart Q-LInes up front - so basically my audio is comparatively high end - but hey i actually like the stock speakers for rear fill - they work well enough

BTW Bose = buy other sound equipment - its basically high priced junk IMHO

Hahaha, didnt know got Dyns supporter here. Used to run Dyn MD130 tweets on my previous ride, such clarity and richness I'd say, just lack of bass and slower than Scanspeak.

I've never owned Dyn stuff for the car - I'd love to run the Focals that i've had for years with a nice Eclipse amp once i buy a new HU.

I went looking for a home stereo about 5 years ago, with a budget of 3k. I ended up spending $6k just on Dynaudio speakers alone!

I do love my driving music

hmm kicks would suffice nicely. Might pull off a few panels to investigate on the weekend

In here, we're able to go for good used product so not as expensive as it should be

Home audio is way expensive to me, so much has to be taken into consideration but end result is way better !

that would be more than entry level - if installed properly it should sound terrific - i like tru amps and scan speak revelators are legendary speakers - not sure which 12" sub you intend using but there are lots of good ones out there

in terms of the sub im going to replace my JBL 15" with a morel ultimo - should sound a little better - wish i could afford Morel supremo components upfront but they are a tad bit expensive here in South Africa - and then the related amps and cabling could get expensive too ..... i am also considering replacing my Kenwood K-CD01 headunit by an alpine 9887 with imprint module - that thing has everything including the kitchen sink but right now my install is still a little old school with that CD player and phoenix gold amps

I was going put RS 12" sub (forgot which model though).

About the 9887, might as well you go for good conditioned unit from Pioneer P9 or 9835. Sounds better IMHO. But then needs to find faceplate to cover the hole

Can the front door panel accommodate 7" drivers without modifying it?
