Did anyonie noticed that there is a plastic tray under the car?
What did it do?
This prevents road grime, stones, sticks, and debris from entering the engine compartment. As far as I am aware, there are 2 types of under body trays... The earlier longer underbody tray, and the later, short underbody try, that only extends about 150mm back from the front bar(as what I have on my 2007 Polo GTI).
"If can't get behind your troops, feel free to stand in front of them..."
these trays are great when working in the engine bay and suddenly you drop a screw . it catches them and holds them in there really well.....as the dyno operator found out at the last dyno day in brissy.
They also perform an important function in directing air under the car as well as forming low pressure areas to improve airflow through the engine bay. You should always have it fitted.
I am talking about the on under the body, not the one under the engine bay.
I was try to inspect my front tyre (side wall damage, damn sydney rd) and not aware they there is an plastic tray there and i used it as the support point to jack the car up...
