yeah i noticed mine just after i bought the car. doesn't really phase me though, i don't think someone buying the car off you will even notice it (hopefully). if it is definitely warrantable though i will be heading in to get that replaced and the gearbox oil at the same time.

dammit. i'm getting that as well. and what about the passenger one? it's fine now but over time that will wear out too. so the options are:
1. get it replaced and put tape over it (although my dealership will fix it and f*** up something else while they're at it.)
2. just to learn to live with it.
i see that as a lose-lose situation - who wants tape over their trim?Polo GTI | MY2008 | Black | Leather

I as thinking getting it fixed then making some small polished aluminum plates that bend over the area.Originally posted by Preen59It doesn't matter what car you drive.. If you're a complete wanker.. People still won't want to talk to you..

I raised this problem a while ago. It's definitely a durability issue.
A strip of paint protection film (clear vinyl sticker) will do the job nicely - the driver's side had nearly worn through by the time I noticed mine
Recommend having this done sooner than later.

Yeah - thats the post I was refering to.
Doubt warranty will cover it - would warranty cover the scuffed carpet on the transmission tunnel to the left of your foot rest?
