Looking at a FMIC for my Polo.
Was considering the following FMIC piping with the SEAT Intercooler from Darkside Developments (DD):
    http://www.onlychargeddubs.co.uk/products/hard-pipework-kit-to-fit-1-8t-seat-ibiza-vw-polo-with-seatsport-fmic.html

I was looking at using the Forge FMIC install guide to help with the bumper removal etc. But it looks like the above DD FMIC kit requires the removal of the entire plastic cradle (if that is even the correct term) from behind the crash bar whereas the Forge kit does not.

Any issues with removing this entire front subsection of the car?
Am I correct in researching that most FMIC installs require some form of trimming etc behind the bumper?

Has anyone installed or have feedback on this particular FMIC kit?

No matter what intercooler you get the bumper and crash bar will need trimming, not hard to do just time consuming. That is a pretty big price for not much piping and postage still needs to be added.
If your gonna go that route i suggest you look at some local shops to do it probably work out cheaper or source the parts yourself and you will save a ton.
There is also a seat sport replica intercooler on ebay which is thicker than the real thing and great quality. I have this unit on my car.

      hey mate

i recently did an airtec fmic on my polo! came out really good and everything you need for install, even instructions but the pictures are very dark its pritty easy install without. you will need a 6inch grinder with cutting disc and a drill with bits i had to redrill out the bracket holls as they didnt line up. i also glued the top honeycomb grill on the bumper and you will need at a minimum right and left

I had the large Forge FMIC on mine - the crash bar did not need to be modified.

              I run the darkside IC
I did get it when the conversion was better though
It's a seat sport copy, works well, has been on a few years now
Airtec is the same as far as I know
Requires trimming to fit like all the seat sport copies. Don't need to trim the crash bar, just plastic. Mounts to existing holes on the car.
2 beer job, 3 if you're pedantic about the plastic trimming
