  • Mystery Oil Leak around Throttle Body

So a month or so ago we started to smell oil in the cabin.

Fast forward a month of being too busy and lazy to actually try and figure out what's wrong. I open the bonnet and there's a reasonable amount of fresh oil around the throttle body. It's mostly drowning the top joint to the pipe running over the engine from the turbo. There's oil on the cooler and in the little valley with the injectors- more than likely just leaked down/across. The crank vent is also wet but I don't think it's the source of the main leak.

    Thoughts guys?

Indeed it was! We actually just diagnosed it properly tonight. Off to VW to get it fixed tomorrow.
