My16 adaptive suspension & lowering

Just purchased the my16 which coles standard with adaptive suspension. The problem is, it looks like a 4wd right now but the feature really stiffens the car up so I want to keep it.

Does anyone know how to lower the car without losing this feature? I feel it's not worth losing for coil overs.

A mate has a Scirrocco R with adaptive suspension and it is lowered with H&R springs I believe and he says it works fine.

I was thinking, if I get lowered Springs it won't effect the dampening but unsure really of how the system works. It's hard to find info.
