Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • 2015 Polo GTI DSG Surging In Cruise Control

    Afternoon
I have an issue with cruise control with the vehicle surging. Most notable when cruising on a flat road, not so notable on slightly undulating road. Revs / speed don't increase but annoying with engine note changing and Fuel Economy read out fluctuations from between 5.5 and 8.5 L/100k. Starts slowly but after a few minutes situation develops into a continuous surge, pause, surge, pause. The only way I have found to get out of the loop is to press "Reset" which seems to stabilise everything for a few minutes till it starts again. Have spoken to Service Department who advise not to worry that this normal and advise them at first service due in August.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Ours does that too.

Will be asking that it be addressed in the first service.

I borrowed a MY15 for 10 days recently (it had only 400km on it) and found this too, in fact it seemed to surge very slightly when not on cruise, and made me feel a little queasy at times. :/

I was wondering if I should write up what i felt after having the newer car compared to my MY12.5, but felt most people on here would already know the differences LOL
