Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • How to overcome mobile phone connect when phone doesn't 'read' request for password

    Hi

Have a 6 series Polo and Samsung & iphones 'new' connect to the Bluetooth Touch Adaptor (*BTA), but my Motorola Moto G has a problem.

The phone 'sees' the BTA, but doesn't receive any request for password. As such, while the phone states it's 'connected', the BTA refuses to connect due to the lack of a password.

I've tried turning the car off, then on and trying to connect within the 3 minutes. I've set the password option to long.

But still, my phone doesn't get any signal to enter a password.

I have a Toureg, and there's no problems connecting.

    Any suggestions?

    Cheers

Have you made the phone "Visible " in the Bluetooth settings. There are two ways to do it A. let the phone look for the car and
    B. let the car look for the phone.Phone needs to be "Visible " for this
Try both. one should work Have had to use both methods with a Samsung Ace and an LG

Yes, Hillbilly, I've made the phone visible in my Bluetooth settings. I can see the Bluetooth setting on my phone looking, and connecting, and then 'connected'.

At the same time, I've 'asked' the Polo BTA to go search for a 'Bluetooth' connection - and this is done immediately after turning ignition on.

The issue is that the Polo wants the password and my phone is not receiving the 'direction'.

As appended above, I have no problems with my 2012 Touareg - the code comes through readily. Today, I deleted my phone 'settings for the Touareg, and then went to connect. Password came through, no worries and matched easily.

      Cheers
