Sad days, the guys at autocraze told me that the 527s would stick out like crazy if i had them on due to their offset
So was offered to exchange for xxr550 (will fit) luckily for the same price rather than dropping down an extra 200

550’s look nice... Yeah dont go aggressive on offset.. It's just a polo at the end of the day.

Agree the 550s look as nice as the 527s. Notice the 550s come in 36mm offset and the 527s do come in 35mm but guess you are guided by what stock they have in AU.

I really like the Platinum in the New 550s but expect there is no AU stock in this finish yet.

Also look forward to those photos.

527s 17x8.25 35 offset. I quite like the silver wheels in these with the white car.

In Aus right now, it is impossible to obtain the chromium black 550s and there are only a limited number of flat black 550s available too. The guys at autocraze said that there was an issue with the quality of paint on the wheels, where after a few weeks it would start to chip off and basically was of poor craftsmanship. All stock was sent back to be "examined" and "fixed".

Im currently waiting for last wheel (shop has only 3) to come back from manufacturer take about 10days.
Getting the 550s in flat black 17x8.25 offest 36 running 215/40/17 continentals.

Yea diggin the Platinum finish but is said to be available from only from December

Thx, yea the springs are currently fitted with a 25mm drop front and 30mm rear (gonna measure exactly soon). Took the guys at autocraze a good 7hrs yesterday to change out the springs (due to the supplier of springs giving them the wrong springs and the variety of hex bolts vw uses to hold the shocks in).

Rides very comfortably, with zero rubbing at all. Wheels stick out of the guards around 1-2mm due to the double lip design of the 550s

Otherwise very happy with the look and great effort the guys put in to make things perfect!

                      More photos up soon

Look good, wheels suit the car. Happy with the quality/finish of the wheels?

Thanks man, quality of wheels is pretty good but the finish could be better.. Say, the paint job done on the wheel face is great but the interior is very prone to scratches with what seems to be a very thin coat of paint.

My 527s should be fitted by the end of the week. Been searching for months for wheels that will fill the guards out better than VWs and of course look good/aggressive. I was prepared to pay a lot more but I found that most quality wheels eg Enkei look good only in low offsets and 9" + widths and looked crappy in the 8" and higher offsets needed for the Polo.

I figure if the finish is a problem I don't care and will just take them to a local powder coater and get them sand blasted and quality finished - quoted $80 ea only. That way I will also have the exact colour I really want.
