  • VCDS coding for sound actuator(aktor)

    Hi Guys

Does anyone know how to disable the sound actuator via VCDS? or even control its volume?
    Thanks

    Uncheck it in the gateway.

    Or just unplug it.

uncheck it in gateway? can you please elaborate - can you post some screen shots? as I only have the lite version of the VCDS

I was hoping for the alternative instead of manually unplugging..

No screenshots as I don't use VCDS, but in address word 19, which is the CANbus gateway, go into coding, and it'll bring up the list of modules that are coded and not coded into the car. I'm pretty certain the Soundaktor is assigned as it's own module, and can be unchecked in the list.

          - A9 Struct. Borne Sound
          - Adapation 10
          - Select "channel of structure borne sound " (only choice)
          - Std value 100% - change to the value you want stored in % (60% has been suggested as a good happy medium, adjust to 0% if you want no noise/mini vibrations).

Just be warned, car sounds quite rubbish if it's unplugged. lot quieter though but really tinny.... My be a good opportunity to get a new exhaust

I unplugged it and didn't like it.... So it's back on.... Perhaps a new exhaust then unplug might be the way to go

Somewhere online there is a mod where a guy added a GTI switch to his dash panel and it enables/disables the sound actuator (by powering it on and off at the hardware)
The button looks good, but it's a fair chunk of effort.
