Hi, my first post in this section. I have a 2011 polo 6r 77tsi, a week ago when I was driving to wrok on the Nepean Highway then the EPC light, ESP light, engine light all came on, engine was shuddering when idle and acclerate. The car was towed to VW Brighton on the next day.
They called me after 3 days later said 2 cylinder misfire so the coil pack and ignition leads need to be replaced and the ECU has to be replaced as well. I asked them just to replace coil pack and ignition leads. They called me this morning said everything has been fixed and car is able to drive but the faulty codes are still in the ecu, they can't update it because its an old version, it has to be replaced.
I have no idea whether I need to replace the ecu or not, the coil pack and ignition leads cost me around $900ish including labour and the ecu will be $2800 plus labour.

Any idea guys?
